European Energy develops, finances, constructs, and operates solar farms as well as onshore and offshore wind farms. Recently they have started to work with large-scale Power-to-X-plants, that is, transforming excess electricity to fuel.
Founded in 2004, European Energy is now active in more than 20 countries today.
European Energy was rapidly expanding and needed a way to do Project and Portfolio Management, as well as a tool for handling documents and contracts. The expansion meant that they needed a way to manage the size of projects and the number of projects across distributed locations.
They were looking for a tool to handle portfolio and project management where everything was collected in one place.

A valuable pre-analysis lead to a clear definiton of the solution. It should be something that got people in the organization on board and be user friendly for both portfolio managers and project managers. They needed a PPm solution that supported project management from idea to project handover and give running overview and insight into progress, financials, risk management etc.
They also needed a way to link projects to important documents while minimizing Excel sheets.
With Power PPM, European Energy are able to follow their projects live, as data is updated in the system. It has created a way to ensure that they manage and develop projects in the same way across countries and technologies. This makes it easier to streamline and optimize the entire organization and it has increased cooperation between departments, reducing time spent on moving data around. All in all, the quality of projects and projects has increased.

Previously we had multiple platforms to handle what we now have on one platform. We had a lot of different Excel-spreadsheets and a lot of different platforms where project managers kept track of their projects according to their own models. We were moving data around. Our new solution has the "truth" in one place.
